1. What this covers
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage, which work differently but serve the same kind of purpose. This Policy covers all of them.
Our approach is deliberately narrow: we use these technologies to make the website and the platform work, and to understand in aggregate how they are used. We do not use them to build advertising profiles.
2. What we use
The cookies and storage we rely on fall into two groups:
- Strictly necessary and functional — keeping you signed in to the platform, protecting the security of your session, remembering your language preference, and remembering interface choices such as a message you have dismissed. Without these the service does not work properly.
- Aggregated audience measurement — understanding how many people visit our marketing pages and which pages they read, in aggregate. We use measurement that does not rely on cookies and does not identify you individually.
3. What we do not use
We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies. We do not track you across other websites, we do not build behavioural profiles, and we do not sell or rent data collected through cookies to third parties.
If we later introduce cookies or trackers that are not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent before setting them, and you will be able to withdraw it just as easily.
4. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by the providers we rely on to deliver the service — in particular our authentication provider, which sets its own session cookies when you sign in to the platform. These providers act on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security undertakings, and process data under their own policies.
Content embedded from third parties, such as images or video, may also set cookies when it loads. We keep such embeds to a minimum.
5. How long they last
Session cookies and session storage are cleared when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain for a limited period appropriate to their purpose, and no longer than twelve (12) months, unless you delete them sooner.
6. Managing cookies
You can control cookies and site storage at any time through your browser settings: block them, delete them, or restrict third-party cookies. Every major browser offers these controls in its privacy or security preferences.
Bear in mind that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent parts of the service from working, including signing in.
7. Updates and contact
We may update this Cookie Policy when our use of cookies changes. The date below shows when it was last revised.
